Bifolium, 250 x 205mm, 4p.(first page only printed), engraved vignette of two lovers within an arched frame with floral cornerpieces at centre with text above within an oval border of gold printed scrollwork and a final outer rectangular border with decorative corner ornaments and at the four cardinal compass points.

Attractive 19th c. Valentine with a short anonymous romantic poem above which had been appearing in poetry anthologies from the late 18th c. only. A charming survival. A very good copy (small tear at head;  couple of ink spots to blank verso). [Ref: 1823]
