[Certificate Of Authorisation To Practice As An Attorney And Solicitor]..

  • £4000

Single sheet, 32.5 x 20.5cm, printed on one side with ms insertions, blue tinted paper folded for storage, royal crest of the British crown at head, numbered and with embossed authentication stamp. Unusual survival of this document issued and signed by William Wilks Dalbiac of the Office of Inland Revenue, this form authorises Henry William Fox of Melbourne, Derby to practice as an Attorney and Solicitor until the 31st December 1859 for the cost of six pounds. Fox, who practised at Church Street, Melbourne, Derbyshire, was unfortunately not to survive the issue of this certificate for long as he died in 1863, aged 53.
